Meet Liliana
Liliana Peinder did not grow up with a safety net. She grew up learning how to build one.
Liliana Peinder knows what it means to build stability through hard work, responsibility, and service to others. Raised in a family connected to both military service and small business, she learned early the importance of discipline, accountability, and showing up for your community. Like many families in Huntsville, the Peinders balance work and school schedules with the rising cost of living while working to build a stable future for their children. That perspective shapes Liliana’s approach to leadership: practical, grounded, and focused on making sure the systems that support everyday life actually work for the people who depend on them.
Liliana became a homeowner at just 22 years old — an achievement that reflects the work ethic and determination that have guided her throughout her life. She strongly believes that Huntsville should remain a city where young families and working residents can still build a life, buy a home, and grow roots in their community.
A lifelong learner, Liliana has consistently invested time in understanding how her community operates and how residents can play a role in improving it. She has served students as a special education teacher in a Title I school and supported families as a translator for Huntsville City Schools—work that reinforced a simple truth: when systems don’t work, working families pay the price, and when they do, children and communities thrive. She has participated in civic engagement programs, including Huntsville's Citizens Police Academy, and regularly attends Huntsville City Council meetings to stay informed and advocate for issues affecting residents.
Through these experiences, she has seen firsthand both the opportunities and the challenges that come with Huntsville’s rapid growth. While the city continues to attract new industry and investment, Liliana believes growth must be guided by strong systems that keep Huntsville livable for the people who are already here. That means smart, responsible growth supported by real partnership with Huntsville City Schools, and investment in the social infrastructure families rely on—safe streets, parks, libraries, and responsive city services—so opportunity expands without pushing Huntsville natives aside.
Liliana’s approach to leadership is straightforward: listen to residents, support the people who serve our community, and focus on solutions that strengthen Huntsville for the long term. She believes in smart growth, strong infrastructure, safe neighborhoods, and a high quality of life for every family who call Huntsville home. Her campaign is grounded in a simple idea: when city systems work well, families succeed, businesses grow, and communities thrive.
Liliana Peinder is running for Huntsville City Council to help build a city where opportunity, accountability, and community progress move forward together.
